Subject: REMINDER - CLOSURE OF UOC BUILDING - SUNDAY 12th JUNE 2016

Reminder - Attention Staff, Students, Contractors, Visitors, CDHB Staff, Library Users, Medici Staff

For safety reasons the University of Otago, Christchurch building will be closed on Sunday 12th June 2016 from 07:00am - 12:30pm but with the possibility that the closure period could be extended into the afternoon. You will not be able to access any areas in this building during that time frame, which includes the Library, Student areas, Laboratories, Offices, Seminar rooms, Cafeteria etc. There will be safety staff on duty to stop people entering the building.

This is because there will be a crane on site to lift a chiller to the third floor of our building.

The crane will park in the disabled bays in front of the building and Security will cone off this area the previous night. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with Traffic Management Personnel (TMP)
The road will be closed for the short period that the load is passed over the road. If St John are transporting a time critical emergency to ED they will use the hospital's Main Entrance.

Any non-urgent traffic will be required to queue during the period that the road is closed until the TMP person indicates it is safe to proceed.

They will repeat this process to bring the platform back across the road. The crane will then dismantle and depart.

If there is inclement weather the work will be delayed until the following weekend 19th June.
