The digital-earth.eu<http://digital-earth.eu> network project connects those using geographic (geo-) media in education and teacher training.

The EU funded project has 76 partners from 23 countries and is coordinated by the Centre for Geoinformatics at Paris Lodron University, Salzburg

The project seeks to establish an infrastructure of Centres of Excellence across Europe to support teachers and teacher educators in their use of geomedia. A Call for Centres of Excellence is open at http://www.digital-earth.eu/

EUROGEO, as a project partner, is lobbying in Brussels for the inclusion of geospatial technologies in European policies as part of the Digital Agenda, New Skills for New Jobs and Education and Training 2020 initiatives.

Large numbers of technological and educational initiatives are being developed based on the use of geomedia. These are being highlighted and promoted by the project through its newsletters, on Twitter and LinkedIn ...
